:dontknow: just got my lap timer from xt-racing and I thinking of using it at streets of willow, but I have heard that it can be power by a 12volt battery thats where I have a problem don't know how to put it like that; soo any info would be helpful. let's see your ideas:

the longish black cord with 2 clips on it is what you use to connect to the remote 12v battery while the other end plugs into the transmitter. The receiver that is afixed to the bike someplace uses 2 AA batteries. BD

ok so its for the transmitter not the receiver m'I right BD. correct. You can also use AA batteries in the transmitter but it takes quite a few and once they get weak the signal is gone whereas the 12v can be charged, but it will last an entire day. BD

Dude last time we were at Streets of Willow, they're really on a budget I guess, they did not have a beacon, so no lap times..

east los The setup i had was a camera tri-pod to mount the transmitter onto so that it was roughly 2' off the ground and level with the receiver mounted on the bike. The tri-pod can be purchased at any camera accessory/photo developing store for $50-60. BD
