This is a question for people who have their bikes..., I was wondering if anybody els noticed a clicking noise that is everpresent when taking off as you transition from idle all the way up to about 2.5k where it diappears entirely :?: . it is a rpm related nosie that doesn't happen at low speeds, only low rpm's. :idea: could this be attributed to the high rev alternator that is soposed to revolve at twice the indicated rpm even at idle? :roll: -thanks -FrEteGi

Dude, mine has no clicking noise. How loud is it? You know fuel injectors will have a slight "clicking" sound, but I really haven't heard anything that was loud enough to hear over the exhaust note.

i concur, the fuel injection does make a light tap tap tap, noise at idle and low speed. Also, the very light thin metals they use on engine covers and so forth makes engine noise a little louder these days.

its not a problem, or a malfunction of the bike, i'm still in the break-in period and am following the "keep it under 4k for the first 500 mi." so i'm riding at really low rpm's. next time one of you goes riding, if you would, take off a few times really slow keeping the rpms below 2k untill you start going and let me know if you here this?

slow_rdr, no, i dont think so, let me try to explain it this way: it doesnt sound like a byproduct noise, ie, not like the sucking noise you hear when you rev the engine neither like exhaust noises, it really sounds kinda like a metal on metal noise, like a chain would as each link comes in contact with the tooth of the sprocket, thats why i thought it might be the gears connected to the alternator.

I think i know the noise you're talking about, I get a low speed bog noise when i take off at really low rpm's I have 250 miles on my bike now ,and I am learning at what speed to take off at to eliminate the noise.that worked for me g/l
