: INSURANCE
Hi Geezer you still having fun on your beast ? Result........ Motorcycle Direct's technical bloke phoned today and said they would now insure me for £453 with a £600 excess that sounds a little better than the initial £1365. Thanks for the info anyway take it easy .GED :D
kwakman 03-31-2004, 03:17 PM Man, you guys got it rough over there!
Heck mine was only like $560 per year over here. The only thing that sucks is that I have 2 cars, and 2 bikes insured, and my house with the same place, but it is way cheaper than the rest.

Geezer - I owe you a pint mate. Went through your broker and got NU cover for £495. Not bad considering I only have 1 yrs NCD (reason given in the immobiliser thread).
May see you at an event later in the year. My bike is due in Fri/Mon. Cover starts Saturday, in anticipation...
Oh, the pain...
I was happy with my quote then a mate said try "SWINTON" so i did and wow £404 all in including european cover and protected no claims. I think that will be the best i just can't face another phone call.......... :D :D :D :D

Digga 04-02-2004, 06:41 AM I paid £667 for two bikes, no exclusions on the policy - unlimited mileage, work usage etc, that's with CN and Royal Sun Alliance (I think), with 4yrs discount. Motorcycle Direct wanted £923 for the 10R on it's own, was with them for 5 years, told them to swivel.
Kwakajak 04-02-2004, 06:59 AM Hooray does this mean the insurance companies in U.K. have finally got these beasties listed coz I have had no end of trouble
Digga 04-02-2004, 07:46 AM Some of them have but not all, ask the question when you go for the quote. If the insurance companies don't have it listed, then ask them to go direct to the underwriters, that's what I did.
My first attempts at getting cover were a real pain in the arse, as the insurance companies kept putting the bike through as a 'kin Duke 999, the only close match they said, I told them to use a 12R instead as a good comparison guide.

damn I thought $340 was high! I was even thinking about raising my deductible to a hundred bucks just to drop it a bit more I guess I'll leave it were its at for now.

 Apologies accepted. It's funny though when you have a bike like this people automatically think it's a bloke, I must say trip up to Box Hill on Sunday (bike meet down here) a few blokes did look a bit shocked if not envious. Anyway how are you getting on with yours, I absolutely love mine to bits, could do with a few more sunny days though. I let Tony (other half) have a go at weekend and I went on his Blade and he thought it was great he asked if I wanted to do a swap...you can imagine what I said!!

I’ve still only done 800 miles on mine, and I’m loving every minute of it. Getting the hang of controlling wheelies better now. 8)
still…like you say…not enough dry days.
Anyhow , I’m taking the plunge tomorrow and taking my 10 up to Cadwell Park for a bimble ( ) around on Thursday. The weather forecast is for scattered showers, so I’m prying for the showers to be scattered anywhere BUT Cadwell.
you say yer bloke has a blade. Is it the new one :?: If it is have you rode it :?: is it as shite as they say :?:
questions...questions....

So how did your hoon round Cadwell Park go ? Did the weather hold out for you? Wish I had the balls to do wheelies!!

As for wheelies… you’d better learn quick, cause your 10r will be doing its best to stand up at every opportunity…
