04 zx-6rr, I have a micron carbon slip-on, what cheap ways if there is any, to gain performance(air filter,ecu,etc). I am running 94 octane, if I ran higher octane and maybe changed plugs, would there be a difference? thanks vinny zx-6rr

No point in even using 94 if your timing isn't advanced. -if you're not big on top speed, re-gearing is the cheapest way (might want a speed-o-healer to go with it) -other than gearing you'll need a power commander to truly get the full gains from various mods. -520 chain would save on some weight -air filters are a controversial subject (i'm using bmc, imo k&n quality is crap) -if your mechanical thin head gaskets are dirt cheap

Replacing it with a ZX10 might actually be the best advice. Worthwhile mods like full exhaust- so you can use race gas and lighter wheels make the price of an upgrade to a 10 more cost effective. My 636 is track dedicated. And, it only has a slip-on, damper, screen and plastics. I have no problems staying up with the litre bikes for 95% of the track. For the street, however, I think that a litre bike is the way to go- less shifting and more low end torque. Good luck!
