I have the experience and knowledge to get the bike down to my knees. The questions is would the factory tires on the 11 ZX10R hold? I just have a simple bet that I can knee drag the factory zx10r 2011 factory as is. I really don't' want to spend 300 dollars on some Pures that I wouldn't need. I haven't had any problems, I been knee dragging with my gen 3 but it had Q2's Thanks !

I dragged my knee with the standard tires.. Even been to a trackday. But they are not very grippy so don't twist the throttle too much while under lean.

Just depends on the rider, the tires are certainly capable.

I don't know how soft they are but i would say keep them until your done breaking in the motor and until you get comfortable with the bike (not knee dragging yet) and swap them early for some tires that you are comfortable with. That way you can get the boring miles on the oem tire. I personally wouldn't push myself with tires i don't know.

They were fine for me, no worries going knee down. You going Pures??? No one runs them over here apart from sport tourer guys....they are rubbish for someone that really pushes.

Stock tires = garbage. square and hard. get some decent rubber.

I'm running stock tyre on the rear. I'm guessing they are the same over there. Bt016cc. I've got a 16 pro on the front They hold just fine.

Knee down is okay but you can't push them on the track. They are just not soft enough. Yes I agree hence why I run SUPERCORSA SC's. But he wanted to know if he can knee drag ok with them. But if your any good you can knee drag with any tire.

It's not fast on the street, but it is big and it is clever!

You won't have any issues dragging a knee with stock tires. Just make sure you stay "smooth". On the 3rg gen, first saturday I had it, took it to a local track to see how she would do with me on it. This is about as much lean angle as I got, keep in mind I am just over 5' 6" so my legs are kind of short, had to be really carefull on throttle control powering out of the turn. Had the rear end step out way too much, couldn't sh*t for a week afterwards haha. http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/253/slonjon.jpg

There are some really crap tires out there. Each tire brand and carcass is almost as specific as a bike suspension and bike. Sure you could knee down with any tire. but you would be much faster, smoother, more confident, and more aggressive with a good tire.

:+1: I agree, i don't trust tires other than the tires i have tried and liked. Although, Triumph put some nice rubber on their special edition Daytona.

The stock BTO 16's are ok at the track. However you need to adjust the pressures. On a hot day...start out about 26 lbs in the rear and 28 to 29 lbs in the front.... Take it easy the first couple of laps and let the tires get hot... Then gradually roll smoothly into more lean angle... They will hold... As soon as you are back in the paddock Check the pressures..,!!. The rear should be around 29 to 30lbs pressure and the front should be around 31lbs after the are hot... Ifbyou don't have tire warmers to keep them hot then always take it easy the first couple of laps.. Stock sport radials will handle all the lean angle your mind will let you use if you get them warm and keep close eye on ther pressure... If ther is a tire guy there. Askmthem what the suggest... If you are dragging your knee on the street then you will crash big time sooner or later.... Too many variables on the street.... Better to keep the severe lean angles,on the track! Just my 2 cents... Speedy

LOL dragging you knee has nothing to do with your OEM tyres... u could fit them backwards and still drag a knee.

Just my 2 cents... Speedy I had my ZX10R on stock tires during a erry cold trackday about a month ago. Had the front at 33 psi and the rear at 38 PSI. Outside temperature was about 40-42 degrees Fahrenheit. Track temperature went from 32 to 46 degrees during they day. They did not perform as wel as gusy in my group on Supercorsa SC2's.. I was sliding and they were having no poblems..
