Apparantly he was at a Hooters for bike night. When he was leaving there he brought up the front and lost control and hit a car. but Knowing him there was something else that happened. But that is just speculation. I have know clue how bad the bike is. I am in contact with the guy that currently has it. I guess the kinda good thing about where it happened was he was right down the road from one of the best hospitals around. Ironically its the one that has it's LIFELINE chopper painted like his bike. I am planning on heading there today or Friday. I guess he is in a medically induced coma right now with ribs 2-12 on his left side broken and some broken in 2 spots. He woke up briefly to hold his wifes hand and give her the peace sign. But he is still not in stable condition and they are awaiting word on whether or not he will need surgery. I will be heading there today or Friday. Not sure depends on rain. I will keep yopu updated when I find out more.

He is writing that he is through "with this shit" So they have to keep him somewhat sedated in order to keep the tubes in him. He had also broken his shoulderblade. I am going to go see him in a few hours. Hopefully he will be awake and able to talk/write. He has a long road ahead of him, and can still use our prayers. I will update later tonight after seeing him. Ride safe everyone.

I just got back from the hospital where kabooki is. They are hoping to be able to take the tubes out of him tomorrow. Here's the scoop on injuries. I am not in the medical field so please ecxuse the spelling. He has broke 10-12 ribs, several in multiple locations. He broke his left clavicle and some other bone in the shoulder that starts with a SP***? Its a big word never heard it before. and he has a few road rash marks. he was wearing all his gear and his brand new helmet he got at Moto GP. They had to have 2 nurses sit on him while they gave him a epideral in order to help relax him and ease his pain. They said that he will be there for a total of 7-10 days, and then it will be a long road to recovery. I will probably be up there again sometime over the weekend, and I will update this post when I know more Until then, ride carefully, and WEAR YOUR GEAR

I went to see him again today after I got off of work. He took it upon himself to take the breathing tube out of him. The nurses went along with it, but they were not too happy about it. He is barely able to speak, but can. He is still the same ole funny guy. He has as you know a punctured lung, but I guess his right lung is bruised. It is hard for him to take anykind of deep breaths. Imagine a baby breathing short shallow breaths. It's kinda like that. I will probably go and see him tomorrow after I get off work. Hopefully they will be able to get him out of bed tomorrow and kinda walking around. I guess that if the impact on his chest was 1 inch more towards the middle it would have collapsed his trachea and he would not be amongst us. I am just glad that my friend is going to make it. At least he has some hot nurses there to keep him company. He will probably be there for at least another 5 days or so. Thats all for now. Until the next update, RIDE CAREFULLY, and WEAR YOUR GEAR!!!!!!!

Great news. Kabooki was moved from ICU to a regular room yesterday. He is doing much better, and ready to be out of the hospital. He is determined to do anything and everything to show the Dr.s that he is good to go. I am going to be heading by there today and will let him know that you all were asking about him, and for an update. I will give you more information later today as to when the possibility of his release date is. Until then, ride carefully, and WEAR YOUR GEAR

Update. I'm finally walking without a cane. Im able to raise my left arm above my head. I can finally bend over to pick things up. The ribs still hurt. All road rash has healed up. I have backed off the pain pills to 1 every 6-7 hours. I can finally sleep in my bed! I'm letting the insurance take the bike. I'm done with it. I was at the point I couldn't do much more with it. I really don't want to rebuild it, and redesign it. I'm ready for a blank canvas. I also had a magazine contact me and they are replacing my gear for free!

Waiting to settle with insurance on it. The next is a 09-2012 Yamaha R1. Why because Yamaha is really supporting custom builders. I have a chance to win a lot of money and a brand new R6.
