FlatBlackZX 01-06-2008, 10:58 AM Hello all, i know im new here but i'd still like some input. by no means am i picking up an 08 liter bike, i just wanna know how the rest of the world is feeling on it.
I'm not liking the kawi's, but i think Honda takes the cake. And thats pretty bad because i've loved honda all my life...
mr_honez 01-06-2008, 11:03 AM Without a doubt..... It HAS to be the hands down winner here.
Alien10 01-06-2008, 11:09 AM It looks even worse all up close and personal

Deer Elk 01-06-2008, 11:11 AM will vote when i see all in person.

The IMS is in Chicago in about a month. I'll vote after that.
Chris
jimbob8915 01-06-2008, 11:12 AM :ttiwwop: In order to fully have an opinion we need pics of all the bikes from the same perspective. But my initial vote would be for the Honda. I think the liter Hondas have looked like crap after the 929.
Alien10 01-06-2008, 11:20 AM will vote when i see all in person.
I saw all the 08 literbikes last weekend in NY - the R1 is well.... an R1, the gixxer still ain't no prize but the honda is just downright nasty.
eazy_zxrr 01-06-2008, 11:24 AM cbr is diff the ugliest but 10 isnt that far behind it! im not buying anymore at least for another 2 years!
nathanw 01-06-2008, 11:33 AM The CBR has no redeeming quality's. Terrible lines, ugly nose, funky proportions and worst of all, it's a Honda. What's to like about it?
hesaves0211 01-06-2008, 12:05 PM its like honda came together and said; "hey team lets build the ugliest fcukin bike since the duc 999."
Big Daddy 01-06-2008, 12:15 PM its like honda came together and said; "hey team lets build the ugliest fcukin bike since the duc 999."

BD
I'd take the 1000RR over the gixxer any day. At least in the looks dept. :badteeth:
JimmyJam 01-06-2008, 01:12 PM its like honda came together and said; "hey team lets build the ugliest fcukin bike since the duc 999."
Thats a good point in a confusing sort of way. How could any company that built such an ugly piece of sh!t as the Duc 999, follow with the most beautiful 1098? I can't figure that one out. And as ugly as the 999 is, its even uglier with some body work off. What is that sh!t hiding under the front? Looks like a HUGE silver box or something.
Talking about going from one extreme to another? 999-1098?
Irregardless I do like the 1098 but it is still a V twin and no dice for me. But gawd that 1098 is a pretty bike.
JJ
hesaves0211 01-06-2008, 02:49 PM i dont know. trying to look at that cbr is like trying to have a serious conversation w someone who has a HUGE forehead.

The bike show will be in Atlanta in 2 weeks and I can't wait to see if these bikes are as uglee in person as in pix. But I agree with you, that Honda is hideous and you are even more correct in suggesting it looks like they did it on purpose. I could almost beleive that.
The Atlanta bike show is usually pretty good and I am looking forward to talking to the No Mar people, the Handy people and seeing the 08 Kawi in person. Friday the 18th I will be there when the doors are unlocked at 4PM.
JJ
luis.pita 01-06-2008, 04:46 PM honda cbr for me ........ CRAP
DarkForce 01-06-2008, 05:04 PM I'd take the 1000RR over the gixxer any day. At least in the looks dept. :badteeth:
r u serious? have u taken a good look at tha new bike? u must lose 2 gixxers all tha time!
rocketracermike 01-06-2008, 05:31 PM dam, i pick the suzk.
pablodk 01-06-2008, 06:22 PM Shoulda included the B-King.
treyzx10r 01-06-2008, 06:24 PM there all fugly as hell IMO the 04-05 is still the best looking Litre out there ('specially the green ones:mrgreen:)
booken 01-06-2008, 06:42 PM Well, this is a Kawasaki centric site so of course the Kawi will probably not be the ugliest. I actually like the look of the new Honda. And after having sat on one at the international bike show I like the ergonomics of the Honda better than the new 10R. The new Honda doesn't look much different from the side than the 2006 Honda Moto GP bikes. And it is a much cleaner design than the new Kawi.
wpbzx-10 01-06-2008, 07:26 PM i vote honda
The new Honda looks like a deformed Katana.
grover 01-06-2008, 07:52 PM there all fugly as hell IMO the 04-05 is still the best looking Litre out there ('specially the green ones:mrgreen:)

munchie 01-06-2008, 10:05 PM Honda better redesign in 09.
silversv1k 01-07-2008, 12:03 AM Honda better redesign in 09.
i doubt that, suprisingly a decent amount of 1000rr guys like the new design, and they say who cares what it looks like, they say its gonna beat every other litre bike out there, imho i dont care it is makes 1000hp and has full ohlins, if its still ugly i wont buy it :headshake
Big Daddy 01-07-2008, 12:07 AM i doubt that, suprisingly a decent amount of 1000rr guys like the new design, and they say who cares what it looks like, they say its gonna beat every other litre bike out there, imho i dont care it is makes 1000hp and has full ohlins, if its still ugly i wont buy it :headshake
not only are 'they' in for a big surprise from a perf standpoint but the new design is down right grotesque and should not be allowed on public roads. :headshake
BD
ajtmex 01-07-2008, 12:24 AM I know that 08 is a year of some serious competition. These bikes might all dress up for a really nice trackday, but thats no excuse to sacrifice looks.
Alien10 01-07-2008, 01:03 AM Shoulda included the B-King.
The b-king is pretty bad too - forgot about that one.
the 04-05 is still the best looking Litre out there
:+1: Yup
themightymezzo 01-07-2008, 09:14 AM Be at the bike show this weekend. Honda is by far the worst though.
fjmacnaught 01-07-2008, 11:21 AM The more I see of the lastest crop of 1000cc bikes, the more I regret selling my '04 ZX-10R. I do have to admit though, I have put A BUNCH MORE miles on the '08 Concours 14 in the four months I have had it than the last two years of ownership of the 10R.
I miss the '04 for track days and I am looking to add an '08 ZX-10R to the stable.....I guess you really don't have to worry about how it looks while riding it.....I just have to keep my eyes closed when I get on and off it!
wicked 01-07-2008, 11:55 AM cbr looks more in the Kawi Concourse class than superbike...
zxerboy22 01-07-2008, 11:55 AM Come on now, should this even be a poll. We definetly all know which one it is already..... The new cbr1000rr by a far cry.!!!:badteeth:

do tell me about it?? :dontknow:

fjmacnaught 01-07-2008, 02:00 PM The 10R just doesn't have the comfort or long distance ability that the C14 has. When commuting to/from work, the saddle bags carry everything I need and I don't have to bend my neck very much to look ahead. And after removing the secondary throttle plates (flies) and remapping, the bike has SERIOUS low-end squirt for daily traffic.
I live in the Chicago area and to get to any decent areas like Starved Rock or somewhere in Wisconsin, a lengthy ride is entailed to get there. The vibrations through the bars and the hard seat make for a not-so-great ride home at the end of the day on the 10R.
The C14 is obviously no Canyon-Carver like the 10R, but IT WILL hold its own against sanely (and insanely) ridden R1's and R6's in the twisties. It would be wise to remove the foot peg feelers though and firm up the spring preload before hunting the above mentioned bikes. BTW, the C14 WILL out-accelerate and out run R6's on the top end......with the bags on!
So when are you going to get yours, BD?::wink:
Big Daddy 01-07-2008, 02:07 PM Not sure at this point but perhaps by late summer. I may end up hunting down a used one instead of new.
I have yet to read a review that didn't have gobs of positive comments about it so for my use it'll shine just right once set up.

racrx451 01-07-2008, 06:40 PM Shoulda included the B-King.
that "thing" is the ugliest bike I have ever seen!!! that bike just says "fat chicks all aboard"..
Ervins 01-07-2008, 06:53 PM LOL! OMG the 1000RR is indeed one of the ugliest bikes ever made...I do not care how bad ass it is on the road or track...You just don't go out looking like that...You have to have some style.
cain772 01-07-2008, 06:53 PM I chose the Honda although the exhaust on the 08’ zx10r is ugly ass hell.
ibescott 01-07-2008, 07:55 PM Honda all the way
wicked 01-07-2008, 08:15 PM I chose the Honda although the exhaust on the 08’ zx10r is ugly ass hell.

silversv1k 01-07-2008, 08:33 PM that "thing" is the ugliest bike I have ever seen!!! that bike just says "fat chicks all aboard"..
its not that ugly in person but that thing is a tank, i saw it and omg is it fucking massive :headshake

If we're lucky it'll come with a center stand...
ninja6r 01-07-2008, 10:32 PM :+1:
I voted for cbr but I'd say the 10r is right behind it. I mean directly behind, like "get off my ass, i'm not gay" behind.
wicked 01-07-2008, 11:26 PM Just got done with the articles and video on the 08 at motorcycle.com...I gotta say that with the exception of the pipe and the mirrors this is one sexy bitch...
ninja6r 01-07-2008, 11:40 PM :heyyou:
Sexy, you mean in terms of performance, right?
Deer Elk 01-07-2008, 11:47 PM Going by pictures....
1. R1
2. ZX-10R
3. GSXR1000
4. CBR1000RR
...again, just looking at the pictures. If it is still open, I'll vote after the IMS in Chicago.
Chris
MyMoped10R 01-08-2008, 04:22 PM I actually like the 08 KawAsaki, You should be able to get an 08 RR for 7K by June!!
IG Ksan 01-08-2008, 06:05 PM CBR looks bad!!

Is this going from best to worst or worst to best? No way is the honda the best looking, if so let me know and well get you on meds, stat!
Lillfool 01-09-2008, 01:44 AM There's no doubt that the CBR is....well I don't know what to say about it. It's diffently retro. Maybe they're going through the same phase as the muscle cars are.
b_silva2000 01-09-2008, 04:10 AM ewww what the heck did honda do???? they used to have pretty bikes =[
Deer Elk 01-09-2008, 08:30 AM Is this going from best to worst or worst to best? No way is the honda the best looking, if so let me know and well get you on meds, stat!

ninja6r 01-10-2008, 03:41 AM just thought some would like visuals:thumbsup::occasion1 (no particular order, silversv1k:mrgreen:) sadly, i think the r1 looks the best.
norcal10 01-10-2008, 09:34 AM that gsxr is a 05-06 bike, not the 07-08.
Wildcat_10R 01-10-2008, 05:31 PM What were theh thinking with the new CBR? :dontknow: Going to have to agree with the masses on this one.
Ervins 01-10-2008, 05:36 PM New CBR is sooo stupid looking that performance just no longer is a consideration in buying that thing...It is a SHAME-TRAIN.
SpoonyGSR 01-12-2008, 01:39 PM its bad but not that bad..
ugliest to nicest
zx-10
cbr
gsxr
R1
the 10 looks like asshole.

master link 01-12-2008, 09:46 PM sorry to say but the gixxer looks the best, sorry to say

Thems pretty strong words BD lmao
thrill 01-12-2008, 10:06 PM Personally, I really don't see the bad in the cbr, and a lot of people I know really like them. At the end of the day, it really comes down to different strokes for different folks. Myself, I think all the 08 litre jap bikes look better than the gen 2 ten r
A*aron 01-13-2008, 05:47 AM definitely the honda...and i'm usually a fan of honda
mach_man_187 01-13-2008, 06:52 AM Personally, I really don't see the bad in the cbr, and a lot of people I know really like them. At the end of the day, it really comes down to different strokes for different folks. Myself, I think all the 08 litre jap bikes look better than the gen 2 ten r
I would take a gen 2 10R before a 1000RR....It really is that bad!
hotfocuson18s 01-13-2008, 08:28 AM I like the R1 personally. Always have like the Yamaha's. Maybe its because I have a Raptor.. LOL
FlatBlackZX 01-13-2008, 10:31 AM I would take the R1 over any of the newer models really. I've owned an r1 and theyre not too bad. I might like the zx10 after i see some setups of good systems on there instead of that horrible stock can they have going on. Its like kawi just said, hey lets design an awesome bike and use the end can from a autozone clearance section
