'Ugliest' Liter bike of 08.....

Hello all, i know im new here but i'd still like some input. by no means am i picking up an 08 liter bike, i just wanna know how the rest of the world is feeling on it. I'm not liking the kawi's, but i think Honda takes the cake. And thats pretty bad because i've loved honda all my life...

Without a doubt..... It HAS to be the hands down winner here.

:ttiwwop: In order to fully have an opinion we need pics of all the bikes from the same perspective. But my initial vote would be for the Honda. I think the liter Hondas have looked like crap after the 929.

will vote when i see all in person. I saw all the 08 literbikes last weekend in NY - the R1 is well.... an R1, the gixxer still ain't no prize but the honda is just downright nasty.

cbr is diff the ugliest but 10 isnt that far behind it! im not buying anymore at least for another 2 years!

The CBR has no redeeming quality's. Terrible lines, ugly nose, funky proportions and worst of all, it's a Honda. What's to like about it?:wink:

How could any company that built such an ugly piece of sh!t as the Duc 999, follow with the most beautiful 1098? I can't figure that one out. And as ugly as the 999 is, its even uglier with some body work off. What is that sh!t hiding under the front? Looks like a HUGE silver box or something. Talking about going from one extreme to another? 999-1098? Irregardless I do like the 1098 but it is still a V twin and no dice for me. But gawd that 1098 is a pretty bike. JJ

The bike show will be in Atlanta in 2 weeks and I can't wait to see if these bikes are as uglee in person as in pix. But I agree with you, that Honda is hideous and you are even more correct in suggesting it looks like they did it on purpose. I could almost beleive that. The Atlanta bike show is usually pretty good and I am looking forward to talking to the No Mar people, the Handy people and seeing the 08 Kawi in person. Friday the 18th I will be there when the doors are unlocked at 4PM. JJ

Well, this is a Kawasaki centric site so of course the Kawi will probably not be the ugliest. I actually like the look of the new Honda. And after having sat on one at the international bike show I like the ergonomics of the Honda better than the new 10R. The new Honda doesn't look much different from the side than the 2006 Honda Moto GP bikes. And it is a much cleaner design than the new Kawi.

Honda better redesign in 09. i doubt that, suprisingly a decent amount of 1000rr guys like the new design, and they say who cares what it looks like, they say its gonna beat every other litre bike out there, imho i dont care it is makes 1000hp and has full ohlins, if its still ugly i wont buy it :headshake

I know that 08 is a year of some serious competition. These bikes might all dress up for a really nice trackday, but thats no excuse to sacrifice looks.

The more I see of the lastest crop of 1000cc bikes, the more I regret selling my '04 ZX-10R.:sad: I do have to admit though, I have put A BUNCH MORE miles on the '08 Concours 14 in the four months I have had it than the last two years of ownership of the 10R. I miss the '04 for track days and I am looking to add an '08 ZX-10R to the stable.....I guess you really don't have to worry about how it looks while riding it.....I just have to keep my eyes closed when I get on and off it!:lol:

cbr looks more in the Kawi Concourse class than superbike...

The 10R just doesn't have the comfort or long distance ability that the C14 has. When commuting to/from work, the saddle bags carry everything I need and I don't have to bend my neck very much to look ahead. And after removing the secondary throttle plates (flies) and remapping, the bike has SERIOUS low-end squirt for daily traffic. I live in the Chicago area and to get to any decent areas like Starved Rock or somewhere in Wisconsin, a lengthy ride is entailed to get there. The vibrations through the bars and the hard seat make for a not-so-great ride home at the end of the day on the 10R. The C14 is obviously no Canyon-Carver like the 10R, but IT WILL hold its own against sanely (and insanely) ridden R1's and R6's in the twisties. It would be wise to remove the foot peg feelers though and firm up the spring preload before hunting the above mentioned bikes. BTW, the C14 WILL out-accelerate and out run R6's on the top end......with the bags on! So when are you going to get yours, BD?::wink:

Not sure at this point but perhaps by late summer. I may end up hunting down a used one instead of new. I have yet to read a review that didn't have gobs of positive comments about it so for my use it'll shine just right once set up. BD

LOL! OMG the 1000RR is indeed one of the ugliest bikes ever made...I do not care how bad ass it is on the road or track...You just don't go out looking like that...You have to have some style.

There's no doubt that the CBR is....well I don't know what to say about it. It's diffently retro. Maybe they're going through the same phase as the muscle cars are.

that gsxr is a 05-06 bike, not the 07-08.

Personally, I really don't see the bad in the cbr, and a lot of people I know really like them. At the end of the day, it really comes down to different strokes for different folks. Myself, I think all the 08 litre jap bikes look better than the gen 2 ten r

I like the R1 personally. Always have like the Yamaha's. Maybe its because I have a Raptor.. LOL

I would take the R1 over any of the newer models really. I've owned an r1 and theyre not too bad. I might like the zx10 after i see some setups of good systems on there instead of that horrible stock can they have going on. Its like kawi just said, hey lets design an awesome bike and use the end can from a autozone clearance section
