Palomar Road Conditions Thread, Check Before You Go, Post When You Get Back

Hopefully this will become a on going thread that we can all post on, and check for Palomar road conditions (CHP, Weather, Dirt, OIL, Accidents) before heading up there. Let me start, I'm planning to head up there tomorrow 3/4/07 and am hoping that someone that has just been there in the last couple of days will post road conditions. Anyone been on Palomar in the last couple of days, is it still wet and dirty? I was up there last Saturday and there was about six inches of snow on top and the south grade was wet and dirty from about halfway up. Boom who’s next?

I think some guys posted at another forum about snow there...I am headed down there with Rick R about 8:30 from OC, but will prolly hit Borrego (Montezuma)... I have been staying away from Palomar - squids and cops.....and just hit the backside, but that road is getting pretty bad...bumpy and sand/gravel/leaves on the road....3 outa 4 went down in the morning last weekend....

Got to the big oak at the bottom and the boys there said it was wet on top and dirty all over, so we didn't go up. Instead we headed over to Mesa Grande, Wynola, and Banner but by the time we got to San Ysabel it was so windy we had to head to Ramona and get the hell out of there.

Yeah, windy as sheit...but i called Adrian, RiNomad and he said Borrego wasn't windy....and sure enough as soon as we passed the lookout, it wasn't that bad....worth the trip, until the cop pulled me over leading the group going up....they were radaring everyone from a long distance....just gave me a warning, while everyone scattered....

imma be there tomorrow. come check it out! if not ill be back with conditions.

Did the South Grade yesterday (3/11) from 1p to 4p the road is prefect except of a little dirt in one of the last corners near the top, Good Times!

Hey Guys, I don't mean to Jack this thread but I need your help. My bike got stolen out of my garage in PB today. It's a community garage, but you need an opener to get in. If ANYONE hears or sees someone bragging about their new 2005 TI ZX10 please let me know... it's a long shot but I want her back. Just praying she's not in TJ already. Thanks, -Dan
