ZX10Miami 01-16-2007, 07:01 PM Had to share.
I've sorta been thinking of dual sports, adventure bikes or sport tourers as a 2nd bike.
Then I started to get a zx14 (in blue) bug, but I'm not ready to part with the ten.
So it occurred to me that if I sell my 94 900rr and buy a ZX11, then that could cover the "sport touring" and general long straight Florida roads and I can still have the 10.
Then I found this, should be going to see it/ buy it tomorrow- under $4000.00, 2nd owner, extras, 13000 miles, recent tires.....ready to go.
Not a fan of red but I do like the black frame and this is more of a blood red or maroon.
Whatcha think??
Guess I'll be riding to Daytona this year after all- I don't take the 10 to theif week.
usman 01-16-2007, 07:03 PM looks good. i couldnt part w/ a 10 either, the 11 is a solid second bike choice id say
BigDally 01-16-2007, 07:05 PM I think it's a purty bike that will make for a comfy slabber and will in turn serve it's intended purpose quite well... :helmet:
D
ZX10Miami 01-16-2007, 07:05 PM Yeah, the 900rr is fun and versatile, but a little too similar to the 10 minus the extra power- time for a change.
My honda generator will be lonely in the soon to be all kawi garage.

miykl 01-16-2007, 07:08 PM Great bikes...tons of aftermarket support. should be able to outfit it to the T's off ebay. Sounds like a winner.

tomservo10r 01-16-2007, 07:36 PM i've rode my brothers a few times i like it.comfy but i noticed the frame is not up to par with a 10

beenthere 01-16-2007, 07:39 PM I had a '90 C model (single ram air inlet). Pretty nice bikes, the original platform was the '84 Gpz 900, first watercooled 4v Kawi sport. Heli bars, sport tourer shield, and some soft luggage outta get ya there.
morrisjl2 01-16-2007, 07:40 PM Pretty...I say, if you got the cash, go for it. Of course....go a little lower than the asking price but make it where your both happy. Good luck!

ZX10Miami 01-16-2007, 07:53 PM you got a buyer for the 900? tell me some about it....
I have offered it back to the friend I bought it from 1st, if not another friend may buy it.
Since those are "mays"-
It is a 94, my friend bought it from the 2nd owner (I was with him and test rode it)
It was mint at the time, wht/red/blk, 32k miles. 1st owner was a honda tech.
While friend owned it the bike got looped at probably 20 to 30 mph and accelerating as it left the rider (supposedly not my friend)
Then we fixed it with mostly ebay parts, ontario tree, fiberglass front upper, I added rearsets with shift linkage from a 96, and some other minor stuff.
Will let you know if it goes for sale:helmet:
almost 39000 miles now.
Runs great, never a problem.

You forgot the corbin seats. Mehn I miss my old bike.
To old IMO but I guess it is good value for money and it is a KAWASAKI of course!
beenthere 01-17-2007, 09:42 AM Try to avoid the Corbin seat, lowers your hips decreasing leg room, and that seat is hard as a rock!!!!! The D model responds very well to careful tuning. Although it has a 40 degree ignitor rotor, it wants 45. The last version of dyno jets' carb kit works very well.
McHaggis 01-17-2007, 10:56 AM The 11 is a great bike and I have ridden one many times. The only suggestion I would have is stiffer springs in the front if you get it. Waaaay undersprung stock. Other than that do it up.
cdnzx10r 01-17-2007, 11:01 AM beautiful bike man- I have lusted after the zx11 for years now- came very close to buying a mint 94 model myself a few months ago-
enjoy it- its' a heck of bike
Rock_Star 01-17-2007, 03:42 PM zx11 looks very clean!
treyzx10r 01-17-2007, 05:16 PM And get Trey to paint it green.
 have paint gun will travel:mrgreen:
ZX10BURNER 01-17-2007, 05:26 PM For all your ZX-11 info needs check out http://www.bigbikeworld.com those guys will answer any and all questions you might have, great bunch on that site with a wealth of knowledge. Despite it's age and heft the 11 is a great bike and will surprise you. Big ZXs are fun to ride......I know first hand have an 89 ZX-10 (slightly modded) along with my 04 10R both in the faster black of course.
ZX10Miami 01-17-2007, 05:28 PM Did you get it?
Yup- just rode it back 85 miles or so, little rain and wind, felt good.
Muzzy (not carbon:sad: but still nice), K&N, jet kit and YES the springs are a bit soft up front, noticed that already.
New pirelli diablos, clear and smoke screen, jacket, 2 oil filters, owners manual and bunch of papers, both original keys, 1 unused....
Thanks for the advice and comments. Will post some pics later.
Very clean but has scratches on each side from falling while still.
I transfered the tag today AND got the title in hand, in my name, for $7.00 extra no waiting.
New option so I had to do it- instant title.:eyecrazy:
Bradshow- will let you know if CBR is availiable before listing anywhere other than the two friends.
Hoping the guy I bought it from can buy it back now, he wants it but life is expensive.

Interesting point and correct judging by the one I tried for a while on the cbr.
rossiFan 01-17-2007, 05:43 PM My buddy down the street has one but it's not in nearly as good condition as the one in your pic... I can BARELY beat him in a 40MPH roll on. They're hella fast. I smoke him in the turns, tho.
jamartinez70 01-17-2007, 05:46 PM not bad, what mods r u thinking of putting on the bike.
treyzx10r 01-17-2007, 05:47 PM  congrats bro when do we start painting:wink:
ZX10Miami 01-17-2007, 10:34 PM To old IMO but I guess it is good value for money and it is a KAWASAKI of course!
I kind of like the older bike thing as 2nd bike.
I feel more comfortable parking it and going somewhere.
Newer than the RR anyway.
ZX10Miami 01-17-2007, 10:40 PM not bad, what mods r u thinking of putting on the bike.
Probably not much, already have soft luggage so maybe a throttle locker, throttlemeisters or a cheapy.
And maybe a touring screen if I find one, or a wing thing for the screen it has and fork springs probably.
Oh and braided lines eventually......so basically nothing, just like I told myself.
ZX10Miami 01-17-2007, 10:42 PM  congrats bro when do we start painting:wink:
Thanks and......well it does have some scratches and it is kind of red.....hmmm, zx12 green??
Probably not any time soon, gotta keep it a cheap bike, part of the fun factor.
usman 01-17-2007, 10:54 PM congrats
madnessracing 01-18-2007, 12:10 AM congrats and how about some pics?
LEPZ-ZX10R 01-18-2007, 01:50 PM Fun bike for sure:thumbsup:
ZX10Miami 01-18-2007, 03:55 PM congrats and how about some pics?
Will get some more pics up later, gotta get those HUGE ninja stickers off in the future, hopefully a bunch of the marks from falling will go with, others could be gone with a color sanding.
Nothing too major, the kind that pass as sandy dirt dried on mostly.
Wierd that tail has no marks nor the tank or pipe- static fall each side.
Just mirrors, upper and sides marked some.
wanaride23 01-18-2007, 04:12 PM Nice, looks like a cruiser, what year is that

sandan 03-20-2007, 09:37 AM Good Choice
i bought a new 06 ZX10R, contemplated the 14 but could not take to its look, so I also bought a ZZR1100 for much the same reasons as yourself. No regrets, great combination. Have fun and safe riding.
Regards
Sandan
