Wicked Webby 05-02-2006, 05:53 PM Just wondering if any of you have seen/read any magazine dyno tests on any zx14 production models yet??? Havent been able to find any dyno tests yet. Just first ride impressions which doesnt give u squat!!! I am lookin for wet/dry weight numbers and hp @ the tire. ANYONE GOT ANY ANSWERS??
Abortions Suck 05-02-2006, 06:00 PM just seen '190hp' .. which i would imagine is crank HP.. roughly translating to about 175whp.
Wicked Webby 05-02-2006, 06:04 PM Ya I seen that too but was lookin for actual dyno's..THANKS THOUGH
edgey999 05-02-2006, 06:10 PM Hi
This weeks Motor Cycle News (UK) mag has the following dyno figures:-
ZX14/ZZR1400
168.37bhp (at the back wheel)
103.24ft/lb torque (Back wheel)
They are raving bout it, but it dont seem much more than a stock ZX10R (06)
The Bitter Limey
Abortions Suck 05-02-2006, 06:14 PM MCN.. wait for a decent source before you put your egg's into that basket.
figure the '05 ZX10R makes a claimed what? 172hp at the crank or summat? actually dyno's 154 about -15hp at the back wheel .. 190hp crank - 15 would be 175whp for the ZX14. provided the 190hp isnt 'ram air assisted,' and is accurate.
Wicked Webby 05-02-2006, 06:20 PM Good Point!!!!!
ToddZX10 05-02-2006, 07:06 PM What's the torque rating on the 10R?
Wicked Webby 05-02-2006, 08:21 PM Bout 79.99 on the 06

Did you happen to miss the 103ft/lb torque number ? That's massive compared to the ZX10...Torque is the true measure of an engines power output...HP is the result of a specific torque multiplied by rpm...So, more HP at a lower rpm and taller gearing = quick and lot's of top end speed.
Newbies aren't getting into the 9's for nothing...The bike is a monster.

Hi
No i didnt miss the torque, which i agree is impressive (9ft/lb more than the Hayabusa) i was in fair refering to the bhp.
MCN took the restrictors out of the bike and could still only get to 189 mph, hardly the 200mph we all thought.
what is interesting is the 40-120mph roll on figure.........
MCN give the ZX14 as 11.45secs
Superbike tested the ZX10r at.........11.05secs and the GSXR1000...10.05secs!!!
103 ft/lb of torque is good BUT the bike weighs 215kg some 40kg more than a ZX10R and as we all know weight destroys, the handling, performance....everything!
As i said i think that IF these performance figures hold true they are slightly disapointing. Having said all of this i like the ZX14 and someone gave me one i would be really happy:smile:
PS: They could only get 10.25 for the standing quarter, go figure
mainezx10 05-03-2006, 08:49 AM check out june cycle world.

I am not sure what standing quarter your talking about getting 10.25 I have a video of one running a 9.17 at 153 with an exhaust PC and front end strapped down that is UNFUCKING BELIEVABLE
DustinR 05-03-2006, 09:55 AM Dude My 14 hits the governor in 5th gear at 186mph. My 10r with over 20 rwhp than stock would be killed by this beast if the road opens up.. Were my 10 would just stand up when you hit it hard this bastard takes off like a jet where ever you point it.. That could be a good thing and a bad thing. Whatever tricks your trigger. I like both

Can you post some pics of your 14?

:+1:
Yeah the bike is heavier than the 10...But that is way more than made up for with the kind of torque figures the zx14 is making...I don't know what restrictors MCN took out....They need to mess with the ECU to derestrict the bike...I have a hard time believing MCN gained only 3 mph "derestricting" the bike...If that's the case there would be no need for a restrictor for the 186 mph agreement.... I also have a hard time believing that the 14 would be slower than the zx12 in top speed with better areodynamics and with so much more torque.
The zx12 was capable of 192 mph comepletely stock and with a pipe 199 mph...Here's a verified test by muzzy's of the zx12 actual speed....http://www.motorcycledaily.com/25aug00muzzyszx12.html
This thing will smoke the 10....

Its stock dude. http://www.zx14.net/hyperbikezone/index.php?PHPSESSID=37da457a8bbdd53148f8ab5035962cbe&topic=16.msg29;topicseen#msg29
DustinR 05-03-2006, 07:13 PM The 14 does handle well to be a large bike however in the tight radius corners it likes to pull straight.. I think it might be the wheelbase. This pig is stock but It will lose 50lbs very soon. Yes 50lbs with all the BS of exhaust and cleen air cramp and then we will see what happens.. The 14 is so smooth you really don't feel like you are going as fast as you are compared to the 10
No-Mo 05-03-2006, 08:23 PM Hopefully will be picking mine up tommorrow
No-Mo 05-03-2006, 08:23 PM Anyone want to buy an 05 10 with mods listed in signature and 4300 miles will take 8800 for it with all the mods

what color 14 you getting ?
Sands 05-04-2006, 05:46 AM The bike looks good Dustin...Good choice..If I get one I'm going either blue or black...
So is the engine quiet or does it make a lot of noise like the 10 ? Vibration ? Quality /refinement?
No-Mo 05-04-2006, 12:48 PM what color 14 you getting ?
Red of course cause everyone knows Red is faster
byebyebusa 05-04-2006, 01:16 PM The 14 is deceptivily fast... not much on the bottom end but get-er up to 6k and hold on .. can't wait to see a Dyno compairson between the busa and the 14.. wonder what's in the rumor mill for the 07 Busa.. all I've seen have been photoshopped zx14's with Busa graphics applied.
If Suzuki pushes it to a 1500 they better make a big radiator, I owned two of them and they liked to run hot stock.
10rfreAk 05-05-2006, 03:52 AM in the german MO - Mag .
it got max. 184 PS (136kW) at 9500/min and max 152Nm at 7600/min
and round about 190 with ram air. And a 9,8 on the Dragstrip.
Max. Speed is only 288 Kilometers per hour so maybe not as powerful as kawi told us !
